BP Marine, one of the world's leading suppliers of specialist lubricants for the marine industry commissioned Company Net to produce a fully content managed Extranet system to enable customers to run their ships and businesses more smoothly. This was one of Castrol Marine's most innovative projects.

The content and data from the Marlin Extranet are also re-used on the public-facing Castrol Marine web site.  This ensures that data is single-sourced, and content is managed in a single location to serve two web applications.

Marlin takes data feeds from BP's AS400 ERP system.  This displays invoice history, sales history and used engine oil analysis data.

 - Provides customers with a comprehensive technical library, news bulletins
relevant to the marine industry,
 - Contains a ports directory, and a Castrol / Customer correspondence log.
 - Used as an Intranet to link Castrol Marine units around the world, providing
them with improved communication and fast, accurate data on global activities.
 - Hosted by Company Net and maintained by Castrol Marine through in-built
administration tools.
