CompanyNet is offering IT apprenticeships where you’ll develop your skills and knowledge in a real business context, gain real qualifications, and get paid while doing it.
We’ll be interviewing prospective apprentices later in Spring 2018. If you’re interested in a career in IT, sign up for one of our open evenings for prospective apprentices.
We’ll have an informal chat on the phone first to find out what you’re looking for, and whether we would be a good match. Once we’re ready to continue the process, we will arrange a formal interview.
We’ll expect you to give a short presentation on something you are passionate about. Don’t worry, you’ll have plenty of time to prepare.
You will be working in a real IT company, on real projects, alongside a friendly and experienced team. At the same time, you’ll be studying towards an SVQ Level 3 qualification in IT, as well as gaining recognised industry qualifications along the way.
We’ll assign you a mentor, who will take an active role in helping you achieve your goals.
Your apprenticeship comes to an end once you complete your SVQ and graduate from the programme. All our apprentices so far have gone on to find work in the IT sector.
Q. Do I need any qualifications?
A. You don’t need any specific experience or qualifications. We’ll take where you are today as a starting point, and help you develop into the professional you want to become. All that we ask is that you have a genuine passion for a career in the tech sector.
Q. Will I get a ‘proper’ qualification?
A. Yes. We are accredited as a training centre by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA). You will work towards an SVQ. We will also help you gain industry-standard Microsoft qualifications.
Q. Where does the apprenticeship take place?
A. You would need to be able to work at our offices in central Edinburgh.
Q. How many positions are available?
A. We aim to take on three apprentices this year – places are competitive, so make sure you give us a good idea of what you’re about during the application stage.
