CompanyNet has been featured in a new best practice guide which addresses the problem of the IT gender gap.
The guide, “Tackling the Technology Gender Gap Together: A Best Practice Guide for Employers“, has been published by the government’s Digital Scotland initiative, together with Equate Scotland. Case studies from CompanyNet are featured twice in the guide, and share some of the things we’ve learned, in the hope that they help other businesses who want to have a more inclusive workforce.
The report highlights the gender gap issue in our sector, pointing out that only 20% of pupils studying National 5s in Computing Science are girls; only 16% of students studying computing degrees are women, and only 18% of employees in digital technologies are women – fewer if you focus on technical roles.
Check out our case studies in the report to read more about how CompanyNet is addressing this important issue.
