Hymans Robertson are a major independent financial consultancy, and one of UK’s longest-established actuarial firms, with more than 700 staff around the country.
Our first large-scale project with Hymans Robertson was to replace their unloved SharePoint 2007 intranet, which had been developed in-house. Using our Kira intranet accelerator, we built and deployed a new intranet on-premise on SharePoint 2013. We collaborated closely with staff to create a viable information architecture, resulting in high user adoption. It rapidly became a key internal communications tool.
Next, we were asked to build a Client Information Management (CIM) solution. This major programme of work replaces Hymans Robertson’s existing systems, which staff found complicated, locked-down and inflexible.
The integrated nature of Microsoft enterprise products let us create a truly seamless solution. The new system manages the whole lifespan of client data – from sales and marketing, through prospects and contractual engagement, to the final delivery of services.
Customer data is held in Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Each new client in CRM triggers the creation of a SharePoint 2013 client site. This provides a central place to store and share documents. Client sites can also generate a client-facing portal, giving clients a window onto their own information.
With our partner Repstor, we developed a way to intuitively integrate the solution into Outlook. Collaboration is further enhanced by instant messaging with Skype for Business, with staff availability indicators shown throughout the system. The overall seamlessness of the CIM system provides a complete picture of every client wherever you look in the system, and lets users do things on their terms, rather than having to create workarounds.
